Apprenticeship Mentoring Programme

As a Multax apprentice, you will be trained to become an exceptional engineer and understand the end-to-end engineering process, in your first year you will spend four days a week in our purpose-built training academy supported by a trainer. You will learn all the basic machine and hand fitting skills that every skilled engineer needs to know to become successful. You will work on a variety of manual machines in the academy including:

  • Hand Filing and Fitting
  • Pillar Drills
  • Surface Grinder
  • Centre Lathes
  • Vertical Milling Machines

You will then spend one day a week working alongside our Quality Inspection team or shadowing one of our highly experienced machinists. You will have 3 months in each section to enable you to experience each department.

In addition, you will attend an inhouse training provider / College where you will work on the theory side of engineering, giving you a good understanding or processes, equipment, and materials.

Year 2 and 3 you will start a shop floor rotation, where you will experience each department and have training by one of our highly experienced machinists in CNC setting programming skills, in addition you will still attend are inhouse training provider / College where you will work on the theory side.
